After many attempts to get an appointment i finally managed to get one, face to face only to arrive on the day and after 30 min of wait, was told to go home, as the doctor in question was not present.

Awful surgery - 1 month after having a baby I developed a lump in my breast the size of a lemon, had to go back and forth to this surgery in severe pain and kept getting told ‘wait and see how the antibiotics work’ (which they kept messing up between here and the pharmacy. Ended up with breast sepsis and having to have 5 procedures done at the hospital as an emergency as they didn’t even bother referring me. They also lost my baby’s registration forms, which led to us waiting for almost 2 hours in reception with a 6 week old for his first lot of jabs, despite having an appointment booked. My husband has also got an issue with his liver that he’s been trying to get diagnosed for the last year and keeps getting passed around, in one appointment they were googling his symptoms…
We’ve only been with this surgery a short time and the experience so far has been shocking. We want to register elsewhere but all the local surgeries are either full or you can’t get appointments.

On a recent visit the receptionists were most helpful and understanding. I also cannot fault the Service Manager who is always helpful. Thank you.

Recently moved to Chelmsford and decided to relocate my doctors to somewhere more local. Decided to register with Sutherland Lodge Surgery and cannot fault my first experiences with them. The ‘new’ style digital booking system may not be for some but I found it very user friendly and managed to get a telephone appointment within 3 hours after submitting a request. Which then turned into an x-Ray the following week. So far so good, cannot fault the service.

Been registered here for 40 years, went for some vaccinations for travel today and the service is the most efficient and friendly I remember it ever being. I really love that I can contact online quickly and easily. Only inconvenience is the lack of proper waiting areas at the moment, but I assume this is being worked on currently.

Been registered with Sutherland Lodge since the early 70's, when my Step-dad was a partner there. The Sutherland Lodge of 2024 is a pale imitation of what was a fine practice, staffed by people who cared about their patients and the care provided. Actual humans, not the uncaring 'gatekeepers' of recent years. Now replaced with an automated booking system, who's only response seems to be "Temporarily unavailable. We have paused access to online queries as we have reached capacity for the day." Tried for three weeks, gave up.
Looking to move on to a new surgery, as Sutherland Lodge doesn't seem to be a surgery anymore.

Awful service they let poor people suffer alot because of language barrier, if you aren't English speaker it will be tough luck to see the doctor even if you are seriously ill. Shame on you especially reception and administration.

They are currently having work done to improve & update the surgery. However services, appointments and staff are all maintaining a great standard despite the slight inconveniences caused by the works.

I am really shocked and disappointed with the new online appointment booking system. People should be able to phone in to get an appointment, especially when they are trying to get one for a very poorly 10 month old baby. Online form has just been ignored and no contact has been made with us post completion.
I feel so sorry for the staff working there because I am sure they feel this new system that has been implemented is disastrous for all.
I think it’s time to look for a new surgery.

Appointment booking system require improvement. Went to surgery in person at 0805hrs and I was told by reception that they do not book in person Appointment (surprise) - I need to call instead. I called straightafter, had to wait 20 minutes in queue and finally was told that no appointments left.
I requested a call back from reception manager because this arrangement could have been communicated with patients - polite call received and was assured that feedback on improvements will be taken on board.
This is not a complaint about staff - Medical and nursing teams are great.
Patient experience starts from basics. I am sure that they will review their appointment system.
